What is

Via ferrata is the route on a rock, with specifications and safety rules. Its two main features are the rope that is the main safety of the visitor as it is constantly tied with a special belt on it and some added metal stairs in some places, to facilitate access where nature begins to become a little more inaccessible.

Activity

The meeting is at the base of Hellas canyon. The team leader will welcome us and inform us about the activity. As we descend the path to reach the route, we pass a forest full of Zagorian apple trees with the stunning view of the Aegean Sea that meets the curved slopes of the mountain of Centaurs. Before we understand when 20 minutes have passed, we reach the starting point of the activity which is the Galanorema gorge. We let the cool breeze hit us just before we put on our equipment while the route of Via Ferrata begins to appear on the horizon.

This route includes a magnificent landscape with waterfalls and clear blue lakes with an ascent duration of about 2.5 hours, but also a long break for eating and swimming at the foot of the gorge.

The return to the base of Hellas canyon is made by a different path, short in duration (5 minutes) and green.

Equipment

The personal equipment provided is a helmet and seat belt especially for the activity via ferrata.

What to have with you

Comfortable clothes, sports or hiking shoes, water, small backpack, some snacks, (swimsuit and bath towel optional).

• Have not previously used alcohol and substances
• Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
